In 2009, close friends Millie Stephanie and Magda Hutagalung came together with a mutual desire to do more for the children of Indonesia.   They decided they would focus on one goal; to spread basic education to young children in their formative years.   They invited Wanty Siregar to join them.   Wanty, a dear friend was already an active educator and owner of a private school in Jakarta.   Together, these three ladies started Yayasan Pansophia Nusantara.

That same year, a small school with just 30 kids in the impoverished area of Dadap, Tangerang was set up.  That was the beginning of an on-going mission to spread education to young children.   Other like-minded friends soon joined them.  The right people came at the right time, sharing the same goal to be of service and give back.

Other locations around and outside Jakarta were also established one after the other.

Today, Pansophia Nusantara has two learning centers and nine schools across Indonesia, caring for approximately 2,000 underprivileged children.

The Foundation continues to support and establish educational facilities where possible to help provide a better future for the children of Indonesia.

Vision and Mission

Our vision is to educate one million students by 2030 throughout Indonesia.   Our hope is that underprivileged children will have a different outlook in life despite their less fortunate circumstances – to give them the tools and know-how to attain their own dreams at their highest potential.

Our mission is to provide knowledge, training and to positively influence the disadvantaged communities in our country by means of establishing learning facilities that focus on early childhood education and character building.

Learning objectives:

We would like children to be educated and grow up to be well evolved individuals .

The qualities that we emphasize are :

  • Education through discussion and interactive learning.
  • Training courses for fine motor skills.
  • Training children to use their logic in analyzing and evaluating problems.
  • Developing communication skills.
  • Introducing and teaching concepts of life that are important.

Other objectives:

  • To establish good communication and interaction between teachers to parents and parents to children.
  • To spread good hygiene practices to all schools and surrounding communities.
